The Foundation’s mission: contribution to the development of the educational system in Kazakhstan in compliance with international standards.

One of the objectives of the Foundation’s Strategy of development for the 2013-17 years: Expansion of the Foundation’s innovative kindergartens; development, approbation and implementation of innovative-adaptive models of pre-school education and upbringing.

Nowadays five kindergartens are operating under the auspices of the Foundation. Two of them are part of the "Miras" international schools in Astana and Almaty, which were established in 1999, implementing Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate. They have been successfully authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization and accredited by the Council of International Schools and New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation is the founder of three independent branches- "Miras" kindergartens in Astana, Atyrau, and Almaty. These Kindergartens work under the Integrated Educational Programme for preschool-age children based on the State General Educational Standard “Preschool Education and Upbringing” GOSO, approaches of IB PYP Programme (the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme) and Montessori pedagogics.

Total number of children in the kindergartens of Foundation is 770.
